Even though it's only been 2 weeks since we moved to Burnie, we've definitely found our favourite cafe here - The Chapel (I think we've visited here at least 9 or 10 times; though, to be fair, a couple of those times were throughout December/January before we had officially moved, so we're not THAT greedy, right?).
The Chapel is an awesome cafe located in the centre of town on Cattley St. It has been open for a bit over a year - it was converted into a cafe from an old chapel in 2015, and the building still reflects this style.
Whether going for breakfast, lunch, a takeaway coffee, or a Friday night dinner and drinks, The Chapel is definitely one of the best places to check out in Burnie. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly, it has a very cool vibe (you almost feel like you're visiting a cafe in Sydney's inner west when you step inside), and I am yet to have a disappointing meal or beverage (and doubt I ever will).
Each Friday night, the Chapel holds live music from 7-10pm, where you can grab a cocktail, craft beer, wine or whiskey, along with a slow cooked lamb burger, pulled pork burger, fried chicken tacos or a cheese platter, and sit back and listen to the chilled music.
Their coffee is roasted on site and is beautifully fresh, though if you prefer a sweeter option, then you definitely have to try either their butterscotch milkshake or butterscotch hot chocolate. Seriously incredible. They also do an amazing range of baked goods, including chocolate and macadamia cookies, dark chocolate brownies and berry friands.
For anyone passing through Burnie, I would highly recommend swinging past The Chapel and grabbing yourself something to eat or drink from this awesome spot. It's definitely going to be at the top of my list of places to take visitors to this year.
