A weekend getaway in the Hunter Valley

This past weekend, I spent two lovely days in the Hunter Valley for a hen's weekend away.

Staying at the beautiful Bracken Ridge Vineyard and Estate, we enjoyed a relaxed Friday night with some home-cooked Mexican and a chick flick.

I awoke early on Saturday to the most gorgeous view across the vineyards (complete with hot air balloons).

Our first stop for the day was at Ernest Hill Wines, where we enjoyed tasting some of their beautiful wines.

Next was Peppertree Wines, where again we tasted a range of their best wines over some cheese and antipasti.

By this stage, our sweet tooths were looking for some attention, a situation that was rectified with a visit to Sabor Dessert Bar (located at Lambloch Estate).

After relaxing back at Bracken Ridge for a couple of hours, it was time for some dinner and dancing at Harrigan's Irish Pub.

On Sunday morning, we were all in need of a good feed (and caffeine), so there was no better way to end the weekend than with a coffee and some pancakes with banana and honeycomb butter at the Deck Cafe.
